Founded in 1868, the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is one of Europe’s top universities. The partner in the present project is from the TUM School of Life Sciences Weihenstephan. This department is characterized by the interdisciplinary synergies amongst all fields of life science, which enables the exploration of the entire life cycle of foodstuffs and raw materials. Researchers at Weihenstephan examine the value chain from genetic and biological building blocks through production and processing to consumption.
