Abstract | Video of the LAGOONS project. It is a scientific project which extends throughout the European Union by integrating studies in four lagoons: Ria de Aveiro Lagoon in Atlantic Ocean (Portugal), Mar Menor in the Mediterranean Sea (Spain), Vistula Lagoon in the Baltic Sea (Poland, Russia) and Tylygulskyi Lagoon in Black Sea (Ukraine). Each represents a different reality. But all need to be protected urgently. Biological data is entered in a sophisticated computer model. Researchers create interactive maps to also identify other factors that affect sustainability, such as tourism, industry or agricultural habits |
