The database has been developed around the collection of Friedrich Hustedt, and focuses on the three elements: material, specimens and publications. All specimen information for the collection is complete but some data concerning other material/slides from Europe has not yet been entered. Data is also complete concerning type specimens deposited by other authors since the establishment of the collection.
Specimens are entered as those appearing on the slides although in some cases, subsequent names are given under �comments�. The database also has a complete entry of all of the publications held at the centre (now more than 6,500).
The database is designed to be versatile and workers are encouraged to explore the possibilities for searching via alternative pathways when familiar with the basic principles outlined on the help page.
