ILEC’s (International Lake Environment Committee Foundation) World Lake Database available at http://wldb.ilec.or.jp/
Since the International Lake Environment Committee Foundation (ILEC) was established in 1986, we have collected environmental and socio-economic data of important (significant for human beings) lakes and reservoirs around the world. World Lake Database was constructed to provide these data of lakes and reservoirs.
The database currently holds data for more than 500 lakes from 73 countries in World Lake Database. These data mainly consists of result of a data collection project entitled "Survey of the State of World Lakes" in cooperation with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
More information on this dataset can be found in the Freshwater Metadatabase - BFE_18 (http://www.freshwatermetadata.eu/metadb/bf_mdb_view.php?entryID=BFE_18).
